Transformation is a term we hear quite often when speaking of healing one’s self, it brings to mind the image of a butterfly birthing from its cocoon/chrysalis. Nevertheless, it is a metaphor congruent with the healing process.
Stages of a Butterfly’s Emergence
There are different stages of a butterfly’s emergence. For instance, the cocoon stage is where the caterpillar is protected while developing. This would be putting your trust in yourself, the universe, and/or a guide/teacher/mentor.
The Chrysalis is the pupa stage, where the presence of metallic gold coloration is woven, which is considered the skin of the chrysalis. This lies underneath the soft outer skin of the caterpillar that is shed before the next stage. This velcro like silk is attached to the caterpillar. This stage is where we start to see we are more than we think we are, underneath it all.
During the chrysalis stage, the pupa undergoes many developments. This is where we undergo metamorphosis and grow into a new way of being. Once emerged, the butterfly still uses the chrysalis to sit on in order to expand and harden its wings. Our support system within us (our wiser higher self) is there for when we need it to move forward. So our structure just like the butterflies still has a valued use even after a new animal/person has emerged.
Calling Your Higher Self
Our inherent wiser higher self has always been there, we just have to get to it again. As we emerge and spread our wings, we remember where we were and how we got there.
This process of transformation requires patience, care, understanding, compassion, acceptance, growth, nourishment and even after the butterfly emerges, he or she needs to rest and dry her wings so she can fly.
There are many avenues on the path to transformation. Receiving healing and energy balancing clears and raises your vibration. Receiving, practicing, learning, meditating, reading, growing through spiritually uplifting workshops and being present while living with what you are practicing.
Being Aware vs Connecting with Your Spiritual Self
After all, we are all made up of emotional. physical, mental and spiritual parts of ourselves. To be aware of them and understand them is to be connected through our awareness. Being aware is one step. Being aware and connecting with your spiritual self is another. Spirituality is actually being aware of one’s spiritual strength.
And like our butterfly friend, in order to fly free and high, we must trust in that inner strength to go higher, to fly where we dare to fly. Our higher self is where our highest qualities of love and wisdom reside. When we connect to love and wisdom, we allow spirit to expand into matter. With this awareness, there’s enough spiritual strength and insight to heal our feelings and thoughts. This is where we regenerate and transform.
This is where we create and/or recreate a newer better self with aspiring thoughts and actions while contributing more positively to those around us, our families, friends, communities, workplace, positively uplifting humanity as we dance the butterfly dance of life.
